Be good to read the match reports I am back from the Highlands soon and would like to know if we are improving? Was Purches substitution down to injury? Will Shwan ever get a first team game......is Flahvan better? Did Fletch help today and why the hec did we lose!!

Flahaven is too short and does not command the box with confidence. I thought we played well today. The free kick wouldn't of gone in if Jalal was standing between the posts. Baudrey has made be forget all about Jason. Outstanding today. I think we have alot of positives from this game. We want Jalal in!!!!!!!

Some fans have very short memories - Flavahan gets criticised for not stopping shorts that are going into the top corner. has he dropped a cross all season - no he hasnt. While Jalal last year dropped the ball in his own net against the scummers, was at fault for all three against Tranmere at home in the cup, had a nightmare away at carlisle dropping everything that went near him even when unchallenged, Yeovil away missed a corner they equalised from , Peterborough away poor effort on the first, the second would have hit him in the face if he had stood upright. I could go on. He also looked far from convincing against Hereford in the tin paint trophy this season. Lb is not stupid he knows who the more reliable keeper is. After that rant I thought we played well today and some poor decisions by the ref cost us.

I dont think any keeper under 6ft7 would have saved that free kick, flahavan was well positioned and at full stretch his hand was probably still a yard away from the ball, I dont think Jalal's arms are going to me more than 4 inches longer than Flavs, he is a very good keeper, the only bad thing about him is he does come flying out for crosses at times and misses them, but as AFCB65 says Jal couldnt catch a cold in the 2nd half of last season either

At the end of the day you look at the goals he's let in moat of them could of been avoided if a taller keeper was in. I don't think fans have short term memories as we all remember how amazing Jalal has been over the last 2 seasons being a favourite at dc.

Flahavan aint too small! Look at Cassilas, De Gea, Given etc. Height means nothing upto a point for goalkeepers. Flahavan is a very good keeper nut struggles to get play going. Jalal is also a very good keeper but even he has his fair share of problems.

So if Jalal was in goal we'd basically be top then, sorry i dont really see that, there are maybe some goals that he would have saved, but i've seen Flav make some great saves that i honestly dont think Jalal would have got, i cant see any of the games this season being different results due to the keepers. A fair few of the goals we have conceded have in fact been because of a lack of concentration in the back 4 in my opinion. Today showed how good we can be if we can take our chances, just a shame none of them fell to Thomas today

nothing wrong with Flahavan, just that we all feel Jalal has been so poorly treated (and we feel such a debt to him as fans) that its hard to not want him back in goal. Is he better? IMHO yes he is a little better because he closes angles and comes off his line so aggressively. But Flahavan hasn't done enough to be dropped as yetv - so fair play to him. I imagine Shwan will get his chance.

The difference is Jalal had a decent defense in front of him.

Why has Jalal been treated poorly ? He was offer a new improved contract which he rejected. So we were forced to get a new keeper who has proved to be more consistent. He and/or his agent thought he would get a better offer from another club like the rest of our first team. So his current predicament is down to him and his agent. The fact he didnt get any offers even when he was transfer listed just shows that other clubs noticed how much his form had gone off in the second half of last season.

Yeah I don't like the way Jalal has been treated aswell and have no objections to Jalal playing but I'm defending the point that Flahavan is a good keeper and isn't to small. Absolutly gobsmacked that De Gea is 6ft 3 because he looks tiny and even the commentary were commenting how small he is.

There is no doubt in my mind that Bradders is playing Flahaven because Mitch has told him to. Lee has to justify it to the fans somehow, so says he is the keeper on form. From my seat in the east stand he looks like a midget, and his luminous green kit just accentuates that. He wasn't rated at all at Pompey by the management or the fans that ever got to see him. His glory days at Southend were frankly ages ago and therefore completely irrelevant. Mitch is achieving some good things at AFCB but this is another example of him being his obstinate self. And we know that Bradders will tow the line .

Guys what incredible incisve comments here. Makes me homesick! I am in the camp that we miss SJ and did wonder if his return might improve the backs confidence? I feel personally that his return is not in his hands and he must be getting frustrated now. Ok guys what about Mark Moseley he was really good but appears unlucky like sick note was for Spurs but Darren always got my MOM when he played for us! I think I upset a few in the Exec Box at half time suggesting that Darren Anderton only needed to lace his boots up at DC to get my vote great days often remembered.Lol......ooops soz back to M.M. is it time to wave goodbye?? Or is that too harsh?

That is a bit harsh, but i definitely see your point. I think if he spends the rest of this season constantly injured we would have to let him go unfortunately, his wages could surely be put to better use with a player that makes more than 15 appearances. I'd like to see him offered a pay as you play deal maybe but whether he'd be able to to accept it or not i dont know?

MM reminds me of Steve Lovell last season. Until the play off games SL looked like he was either carrying a minor injury or wasnt match fit. Then he was great for two games. MM hasnt looked anywhere near as good as he was a few seasons ago and also didnt look match fit. Then he gets another injury. I can see it ending the same was as SL.

Craig Mackail-Smith we could have had him you know a few seasons ago from St Albans lol. Now he is just the style of striker we really need! I thought of Mark Moseley as an excellent player and enjoyed watching him just a season ago. He made the step up from non-league and of course was great in the bad old days of having to stay up in the bottom of the football league. The bad old days are what we need to avoid so we need to pay a better salary to keep players and attract new. That is after all what we are expecting to swallow this season. Our Manager needs to buy / borrow some gutsy experience and even head hunt some old boys Sam Vokes who is being messed about might want to be loaned to us? McQuiod who surely could be approached! Well it's an idea right?!

Hmm McQuiod wouldn't come to us and if Vokes came to us on loan it won't make the situation any better for him. We need a young Fletcher to be honest. Stockley could be the answer but hes still got loads of time, Lyle might also be the answer but he needs a little more time. Doble if he's still with us is a player that would work instead of a target-man but I think he maybe gone??? Symes would do great but he's dodgey injurey wise.
