AFC Bournemouth 2 - 0 Boscombe Albion
Ladies take the points
Goal scorers - Ai Shindo (x2)
Assists - Charlie Benefer (x1) & Sammy Watson (x1)
During the opening 10 minutes the Cherries looked a little nervous and Boscombe started brightly, but after half an hour the Cherries began to settle down and started to pass the ball superbly well - finishing was little rushed though and lacked our normal finesse in front of goal with several good chances missed.
The best chance of the half followed a beautiful passing move involving half the team which ending with Julez Towers hitting the crossbar.
After the break but slightly against the run of play, Chey Clarke won the ball and played it out to Paula Taylor who found Sammy Watson open in the middle, Sammy then beat two advancing Boscombe players before delivering a wonderful through ball to Ai Shindo to score our opening goal.
This settled us down a little and for the next 10/15 minutes we saw some of the great passing football that the team have been playing throughout pre-season.
Zoe Greenfield, Chey Clarke, Paula Taylor, Charlie Benefer, Sammy Watson & Ai Shindo all played a part at various points during this time with some superb football.
On 77 minutes Sammy and Charlie were involved once more in a series of fantastic plays, Charlie cut in from the left and shot against the post, the third time in total that we had hit the woodwork. The ball came back to Charlie who put in a pin-point cross to Ai Shindo, who headed into an empty net from three yards out. Her second in the match. Ai also scored 2 goals in our 3-1 preseason Victory over Mudeford from Division 2.
The remainder of the game was mostly good passing football by our ladies and quick counter attack from Boscombe.
In the final 5 /10 minutes two fantastic last minute tackles first by captain Nic Taylor , then minutes later by her partner at the back, Sammie Eaton prevented any chance of a Boscombe comeback.
After the match AFCB Ladies manager Darren Clarke said...'Credit to Boscombe for their great football and the way they kept going until the final whistle - but on the day, the best team won and over 90 minutes that was a fair result. With a bit more finesse in front of goal we could have scored a couple more but no complaints overall.
'Finally I want to thank the fans who turned up to watch. Their support was very much appreciated, not just by myself & Vince. But by the ladies too.

A solid game in Holding Midfield, did her role to perfection. Won every header. Excellent controlled possession passing, never fancy but kept it simple.
Assistant manager Vince Taylor said 'Chey listened to instruction and played the role required of her today to perfection'RednBlack Shack
