Tim Stephenson Sponsorship

.

6th January 2012

AFC Bournemouth have released defender Tim Stephenson after his contract expired at the end of the year.

As part of the Youth Team donation scheme on this sites message board, Tim Stephenson became the first player to benefit from the sponsorship during the 2009/10 season and after turning professional he was also sponsored by AFCB Vital and The Friends of Pokesdown during the 2010/11 season.

Unfortunately the defender has been plagued by injuries, which limited him to just one appearance in the Cherries match day squad, when he was an unused substitute for the FA Cup tie at Notts County in December 2010.

During the summer of 2011 he featured during pre-season and was handed a six month contract by manager Lee Bradbury, but Stephenson again suffered with injuries and the club have now decided to release him.

Speaking to AFCB Vital following his release he said...

"I feel lucky to have been sponsored by Vitals and they were really supportive during my time at the club. All the sponsors, especially Geoff Barlow, always gave me great advice and supported me through thick and thin.

"I think what they do for the young players is at the club is fantastic and I hope it continues. I'm very thankful to all the sponsors and hope to keep in touch."

22nd June 2010

afcb.vitalfootball.co.uk and The Friends of Pokesdown have come together to sponsor AFC Bournemouth defender Tim Stephenson's home kit for the 2010/11 season.

As part of the Youth Team sponsorship scheme on this sites message board, Tim Stephenson became the first player to benefit from the donation scheme last season. The scheme is once again running this season and for more information please click here.

Despite suffering a knee injury which kept him out of the youth set up and reserves teams for long periods last season, Stephenson impressed Cherries management duo Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall enough to be offered his first professional contract and has signed a 12 month deal at Dean Court.

With Stephenson successfully making the step up from Joe Roach's AFC Bournemouth Youth Team to the first team squad, AFCB Vital and The Friends of Pokesdown wanted to continue their connection with Stephenson and have done so by sponsoring him for the 2010/11 season.
