Ryan Garry joined AFC Bournemouth on a free transfer from Arsenal over the summer of 2007.

The commanding centre half, made an inspirational debut against Nottingham Forest and showed the potential that he had earned from his stint at Arsenal.

Garry made 2 appearances for the Gunners, once in the League Cup against Sunderland, while he also started a Premier League match against Southampton, where Arsenal went on to win 6-1 in May 2003.

During the early part of his career Garry suffered with injury, with shin splints the main cause behind his departure from Arsenal. He also struggled during the early stages of his AFC Bournemouth career, but appeared to put this behind him and was a crucial member of the Cherries squads that first avoided relegation out of the football league despite a seventeen point deduction, to then win promotion the following season.

But during the 2010/11 season Garry struggled with a nerve related problem in his lower leg which limited him to just 12 appearances last season.

After failing to recover he was forced to announce his retirement at the age of 27 and became first team coach and reserves team manager under Lee Bradbury, but was released in May 2012 but newly appointed manager Paul Groves.
