A product of the youth system at Arsenal, Afobe never represented the first team but gained recognition at international level playing for England at Under 16's, 17's and Under 19's.

He left Arsenal on loan on six separate occasions featuring for Huddersfield, Reading, Bolton, Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday with limited success making 79 appearances and scoring 13 times before making a real breakthrough at third tier side MK Dons.

During his spell at stadium:MK he made 30 appearances, scoring 19 times.

That form led to a permanent switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2015 for a fee of around £2million.

He ended the season making 21 appearances in the Championship, scoring 13, pushing his season tally to 32.

During the summer of 2015 he broke into the England Under 21's side for the first time and was the subject of a reported £10million bid from Norwich City.

Those advances were rejected and he went on to make an additional 27 appearances, scoring 10 goals until Wolves agreed a deal in the region of £9million with AFC Bournemouth in January 2016.
