Carl Fletcher left Dean Court in 2004 after coming through the youth system at the club and went on to captain the side to play-off victory at Cardiff in 2003.

He made 224 appearances for the club before going on to join West Ham United, where he played in an FA Cup final and was capped at international level for Wales.

He went on to play for Crystal Palace and Plymouth, where he eventually become manager during a difficult financial period for the club.

After his departure from Plymouth he returned to professional football as a player with Conference side Barnet, making four appearances before being sent off in his final appearance against Salisbury on the 28th December 2013.

He returned to AFC Bournemouth as part of the youth team set up under new Head Of Youth Joe Roach in January 2014.
