35 year old Paul Telfer became Kevin Bond's third summer signing of the 2007/08 season.

Telfer has previously played in a FA Cup final for Southampton in 2003 and went on to win Scottish Premier League and League Cup in 2006 and also played for Celtic in the UEFA Champions League against eventual winners AC Milan.

Telfer opted to turn down a possible return to the Premiership to sign for AFC Bournemouth, due to wanting to live closer to his home in Winchester.

Following a troublesome foot injury which led to a loss of form, Telfer decided to cancel his Cherries contract in Decmber 2007, just 5 months after signing for the club.
