Tubbs joined AFC Bournemouth for a fourth spell at Dean Court on 30th January 2012.

Tubbs had previously come through the centre of excellence set-up at the club before joining Bolton as a youngster.

He then re-joined the club on a non contract basis under then manager Sean O'Driscoll in 2003, before joining on loan in 2008 under then manager Jimmy Quinn.

It had been thought he might sign for the club permanently in 2009, but once Quinn was sacked, any proposed transfer was cancelled.

He went on to eventually leave Salisbury in August 2010 after scoring 46 goals in 121 appearances for the non league side.

He then joined Crawley Town, helping the side to win promotion to the Football League for the first time in 2011, before agreeing to join AFC Bournemouth in January 2012.

In total he made 78 appearances for Crawley scoring 58 goals.

He signed a three and a half year deal with AFC Bournemouth, which continued to run right through to the end of the 2014/15 season, but in truth his Cherries career ended in April 2013.

Despite becoming the clubs then record signing for a fee in the region of 600,000, Tubbs failed to break into the starting eleven on a regular basis starting 14 games and making a further 28 appearances from the substitutes bench.

He scored seven goals, with six of those goals coming during the Cherries League One promotion campaign.

During the 2013/14 season he had two loan spells away from Dean Court, starting the season at Rotherham United and ending it at Crawley Town.

The first move was to join up with former manager Steve Evans at Rotherham United, Tubbs made 21 appearances (10 starts) scoring just once.

At Crawley Tubbs scored 8 goals in 17 appearances and appeared open to a return, if Crawley could prove they would be potential promotion contenders the following season.

However he later opted to sign a season long loan deal with League Two side AFC Wimbledon and after 15 goals in 30 appearances his loan spell was ended by the Cherries ahead of a move to Portsmouth.
