Jermain Defoe joined the Cherries on loan from West Ham United in October 2000.
He went on to score an incredible 19 goals in 30 league and FA Cup appearances. Breaking the post war record for goals scored in consecutive games (11 goals in 10 games). Although this record was later disputed.
Defoe's goals lifted Bournemouth to within touching distance of the play-offs, however the Cherries missed out.
Defoe has gone on to play for Tottenham Hotspur in a move that cost Spurs £7 million in 2004.
