Stockley had been part of the AFC Bournemouth youth set up since the age of nine.

He was handed the number 29 shirt and was named in the first team squad to face Burton in September 2009 having only just turned 16 a little over a week earlier.

A month later in the Paint Pot, Stockley made his first team debut after coming on as a substitute.

He scored his first goals for the Cherries against Hereford again in the Paint Pot, scoring a brace and taking the man of the match in August 2011 and later than season he made his first loan move to a Football League side.

Having previously played on loan at Dorchester Town, he joined Accrington Stanley in November 2011, scoring 3 times in 10 appearances for the League Two side, before returning and breaking into the squad under former manager Lee Bradbury.

He made his first and only league start for the Cherries in March 2012 in what turned out to be Bradbury's final game as manager.

The 2012/2013 season saw Stockley enjoy a five month loan spell with Conference side Woking, Stockley scored 10 times in 26 league appearances.

The following season he went out on loan again, this time to League One Leyton Orient and later joining League Two Torquay United. He scored for both clubs, but didn't rediscover his goal scoring form at Woking.

The 2014/2015 again saw two loan spells in League Two, the first to Cambridge United where Stockley scored a brace on his debut, before ending the season with Luton where he notched 3 goals in 13 appearances.

The 2015/16 season again saw two loan spells in League Two, the first with Portsmouth where he scored 2 goals in 9 appearances before struggling with injury, the second with Exeter where he bagged 10 goals in 21 appearances.

In May 2016, Stockley signed a pre-contract agreement with Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

A move to Scotland will see Stockley potentially playing not only against both the Glasgow sides of Celtic and Rangers, but also in European competition.
