Trainee, Swap Deal
AFC Bournemouth, Millwall, Burnley (loan)
Northern Ireland
McQuoid came through the youth ranks at AFC Bournemouth under the watchful eye of former Head Of Youth Joe Roach, going on to represent Northern Ireland whilst still at Dean Court.
He scored his first football league goal in the Cherries final match of the League Two promotion winning season after making 29 appearances, 20 from the bench.
During the 2010/11 season McQuoid made his first start at the end of August after the Cherries had sold Brett Pitman to Bristol City and he scored his first goal in League One.
He then went on a 4 game run of scoring 5 goals.
9 games followed without a goal before he hit 2 hat-tricks in back to back games, made his first international appearance for Northern Ireland and scored a fantastic goal against Yeovil (23rd November 2010).
48 hours later he joined Millwall on loan with a view to making the move permanent in January 2011, the deal was reportedly for £550,000 but was officially undisclosed.
McQuoid struggled to hold down a place in the Championship side and was limited to just nineteen appearances (nine starts) scoring once over his 18 months spell in London.
In January 2012 he was linked with a loan move back to Dean Court, but former manager Lee Bradbury missed out on signing him after his predecessor Eddie Howe took him on a 93 day emergency loan move to Burnley.
McQuoid made seventeen appearances (nine starts) in the Championship for Burnley during his three month spell at Turf Moor, scoring once.
In May 2012, McQuoid returned to Dean Court as part of a swap deal which saw Scott Malone join Millwall.
