Maxi was arguably the best AFC Bournemouth loan signing since Jermain Defoe, in terms of the impact he's had on the team.

Having suffered a family bereavement early on in his loan spell, making him, at the age of 21, the senior member of his family, Maxi was undeterred and returned to Bournemouth as soon as possible.

His return match was the Cup Replay against Barrow where he was involved in an argument with Brett Pitman over a last minute penalty. Maxi took it and scored.

He initially only joined The Cherries on loan for a month, which was extended to January at the end of the August Transfer Window. However, despite the side consistently struggling throughout the season, Maxi has no hesitation in extending his loan spell to the end of the season.

Such has Maxi's form been so impressive, his creative and trickery complimenting his fantastic speed and wingplay, Leicester took it upon them to hand Max a new contract.

The following season he returned to Leicester and made 32 appearances as Leicester won League One, scoring twice. But after one game the next season he joined Leeds United in October 2009, initially on loan before making the move on a permanent deal. He was part of the side that won promotion from League One in 2010.

Gradel made 84 appearances for Leeds, scoring 25 times before moving to France in a 3million move to St-Etienne in August 2011.

Gradel made 104 appearances for St-Etienne scoring 31 goals. He won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2013 and the Africa Cup of Nations this year.

In August 2015 he returned to Dean Court in a reported 6million move signing a four year contract.
