Will It Be The Icing On The Cake For Eddie`s 40th?

AFC Bournemouth
vs.
Burnley

Dean Court

29th November 2017

7.45pm

The Cherries this month have so far taken 7 points out of a possible 9. Included in this are the away games at Newcastle and Swansea which netted 4 points, the other 3 points coming from the home win against Huddersfield. The next game is on Wednesday night when the team to visit Dean Court are Burnley who are managed by Sean Dyche.

Both Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche have so far survived in their jobs at AFC Bournemouth and Burnley since they joined their respective clubs back in the season of 2012-13, having started in the month of October, Eddie Howe being first after leaving Burnley and Sean Dyche taking over from Eddie 18 days later. Eddie Howe`s record since then has been games played 243, games won 110, drawn 53 and defeats 80. Sean Dyche games played 233, won 94, drawn 67 and defeats 72.

Sean Dyche has made some signings during the Summer, he signed striker Chris Wood for £15 million and defender Charlie Taylor for £5 million, both from Leeds. Two other strikers who joined Burnley for undisclosed fees, were Nahki Wells from Huddersfield and Jon Walters from Stoke. Also from Stoke defender Phil Bardsley for £1.5 million. In addition they brought in Jack Cork the midfield player from Swansea City and goalkeeper Adam Legzdins from Birmingham for undisclosed fees. Amongst the players to leave were Michael Keane who joined Everton for £30 million and Andre Gray who joined Watford for £18 million.

Burnley have had a good season so far, they started off with a 2-3 away win against Chelsea. The other two games in August ended with a home defeat against West Brom and an away draw at Spurs. September Burnley beat Crystal Palace at home, drew away at Liverpool and drew at home with Huddersfield. October they won away at Everton, drew at home against West Ham, then lost away at Manchester City but won at home against Newcastle United. So far November has seen them gain two victories, away against Southampton and home to Swansea City, they lost their next home game against Arsenal who scored a late goal from the penalty spot. Going into the game at Dean Court and before Tuesday night`s fixtures, Burnley are in 7th place, 8 points in front of AFCB in 13th place

In our last home game last season Burnley were the visitors, the Cherries winning 2-1, two of the three goals in the game came from former players for Burnley and AFCB, Junior Stanislas scored the first AFC Bournemouth goal and Sam Vokes the only Burnley goal. In the previous game at Turf Moor, Burnley won 3-2.

AFC Bournemouth Team News:

Simon Francis is available again after his one match suspension. On the injury front Jermain Defoe has been out with a calf strain, also Junior Stanislas has been missing with a groin strain. No news so far if either player will be available for selection for Wednesday`s night game.

Player to watch: Callum Wilson

After his hat-trick in our last home game against Huddersfield, but had a quieter game against Swansea, Callum Wilson will hope to get back on the score sheet, in what looks like a tough game against Burnley.

Burnley Team News:

Matt Lowton picked up a knock at the weekend and will have a late check before the Wednesday night game. Jon Walters has trained for the first time since his injury.

Player to watch: Sam Vokes

Burnley are another side who rely on good teamwork rather than individual outstanding players. After seeing some of his performance against Arsenal in Burnley`s last game, attacking midfield player Johann Berg Gudmundsson, hit the post in the first half with a powerful shot and looked very strong on the ball. Robbie Brady, Steven Defour and Jack Cork are good midfield players as well. Up front they have two strong players in Sam Vokes and Chris Wood

Match Facts & Stats

In our games against them in the league at Dean Court, AFCB have Won 5, Drawn 4 and Lost 2. In all competitions, AFCB have Won 5, Drawn 11 and Lost 10.
