Can AFCB Get A Hat-Trick Of Wins?
25th November 2017
After our highest score of the season beating Huddersfield 4-0 at home with only ten men for the second half, which also included a hat-trick for Callum Wilson, the Cherries are on their travels again. This time crossing the Severn Bridge into Wales to play Swansea City.
The last time we visited Swansea they had just parted company with their American manager Bob Bradley, they were in a relegation spot at the time. A day later which was New Year`s Day, Paul Clement became their new manager with Swansea rooted at the bottom of the league and up to that point only winning 3 games. In his first game in charge away against Crystal Palace, his side won 1-2, they went on to win another 8 games, including 4 wins and a draw in their last 5 games and finished the season in 15th place.
In the Summer Paul Clement signed a number of players, including Sam Clucas the midfield player from Hull City for £16.5 million, Roque Mesa another midfield player for £11 million from Las Palmas. Wilfried Bony a striker from Manchester City for £12 million. On loan they have midfield player Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich and up front they have Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.
They have lost some important players for them in midfielder and second highest scorer Gylfi Sigurdsson, who moved to Everton for £45 million, also striker Fernando Llorente their top scorer with 15 joined Spurs for £12.1 million and midfielder player Jack Cork who joined Burnley for a reported fee that could finally be £10 million.
Swansea have struggled this season so far. They started the season with a 0-0 draw away to Southampton, this was followed by a 0-4 home drubbing by Manchester United, they finished August with a 0-2 win at Crystal Palace. September started off with Swansea losing 0-1 at home to Newcastle, this was followed by a 0-0 draw away at Spurs, the last two games of the month ended with defeats at home 1-2 against Watford and 1-0 away against West Ham. October started with two home games, they won 2-0 against Huddersfield Town but lost 1-2 against Leicester City. The last game of the month was away at Arsenal and they were beaten 2-1. So far November has been a bad month, losing both games, at home 0-1 to Brighton and in their last game 2-0 at Burnley. So losing their last 4 games. AFCB have won 3 and lost 1 of their last 4 games. At present Swansea are in 19th place with 8 points, 5 points behind 13th placed Cherries. It will be interesting to see if given the chance, Paul Clement can turn Swansea away from the relegation zone like he did last season, this time it could be a tougher task.
Swansea City Team News:
Tammy Abraham was stretched off in the game against Burnley, but it seems he will be fit for Saturday. Also available is Wilfried Bony who had been out since September with hamstring injuries. He came on as a substitute in the away defeat at Burnley last weekend.
Player to watch: Tammy Abraham
Tammy Abraham the young striker on loan from Chelsea and came on for the England game against Brazil in the latter stages. So far leading scorer with 4 goals and 1 assist for Swansea.
AFC Bournemouth Team News:
Simon Francis will be missing after picking up two yellow cards against Huddersfield, his place will probably go to Adam Smith. Jordan Ibe is a doubt, but Junior Stanislas could be available again after being out with a groin strain, so if needed he could fit straight into Jordan Ibe`s spot. Not heard any news on Jermain Defoe`s injury that kept him out of the squad against Huddersfield, so he could also be available for Eddie Howe who has a strong squad to pick from.
Player to watch: Callum Wilson
Callum Wilson is looking better with each game he plays, it showed in his clinical finishing against Huddersfield which ended up with him getting a hat-trick plus the match ball. Also it will be worth watching Josh King who could be partnering him up front and laid on the pass under pressure for Callum Wilson to get his hat-trick, they could be a formidable partnership this season.
