Here We Go Again
Tuesday 19th September 2017
After our game last Friday in the Premier League, we meet Brighton again in an evening game at Dean Court, this time in the EFL Cup (League Cup) Third Round. This is now called the Carabao Cup because of its sponsors.
In the 2nd round we travelled to Birmingham to (at the time) meet Harry Redknapp`s club Birmingham City. Last weekend Birmingham and Harry parted company after a run of defeats including the cup game which the Cherries won to progress to the next round.
Brighton were at home in the 2nd round where they beat Barnet. Brighton only had a few players playing in that game who were in the side at Dean Court last Friday in the Premier League game. The Cherries also had a number of changes from that game at Birmingham.
The Cherries will be making the trip up to Merseyside at the end of the week to face Everton in the Premier League, so Eddie will probably have a mix of players for Tuesday night, some who played last Friday night and others who were either on the bench or those on the fringe of the team. Brighton have a bit longer to recover as the next game for them is a 4 pm Sunday home game against Newcastle, Hughton will probably make changes for the cup game.
AFC Bournemouth Team News:
Eddie says he will be making changes for this game as he has done in previous cup games. As far as Steve Cook is concerned, Eddie mentioned he doesn`t think the injury is serious, they will have to assess it, Junior Stanislas is closer and looking good from what Eddie has seen. Callum Wilson is not available.
Player to watch: Lewis Cook
Lewis Cook the player some of our fans have been calling for a first team start will probably start this game and will be out to impress Eddie for consideration for a start against Everton. Also Lys Mousset may get a start up front, so will be interesting to see how both youngsters do.
Brighton & Hove Albion Team News:
Chris Hughton has said his record signing Jose Izquierdo will make his full debut for Brighton and deadline day signing Ezequiel Schelotto the right-back will make his first appearance for the Seagulls, there will be other changes as well. Bruno who missed the Friday night game, could be back for the Newcastle game on Sunday.
Player to watch: Jose Izquierdo
Colombian winger and record signing Jose Izquierdo will be one to watch, Glenn Murray if he gets a full start will be another.
