The Cherries are yet to record a victory this season, with three draws and one defeat during the opening four games of the League One campaign.
AFC Bournemouth have also been knocked out of both the League Cup and the Football League Trophy after penalty shoot-out defeats to both Oxford United and Portsmouth.
Paul Groves Cherries side showed potential against Portsmouth, but will need to turn performances into results to quieten down murmurs of discontent amongst some sections of the Cherries supporters.
Meanwhile Yeovil have started the season well, they currently sit second in the League One table with 3 wins and a draw from their opening League One games of the season.
AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves told BBC Radio Solent...
'The players recognise they are improving. They recognise they are a young group of players and that they are getting better after only a couple of games.
'They are getting fitter and stronger they are getting more competitive and gaining more understanding.
'Yeovil have had a good start, they are going to face us at the weekend and I feel we will give them a difficult game for sure. We've been playing well and I think we can go there with confidence.
Yeovil will be without defender Jamie McAllister who was sent off in their Football League Trophy match against Bristol Rovers.
While midfielder Gavin Williams is doubtful with a calf injury.
Former AFC Bournemouth striker James Hayter returned to the south over the summer after five years with Doncaster Rovers.
The former Dean Court favourite has scored three goals in four appearances for Yeovil and has played a major part in their solid start to the new campaign.
AFC Bournemouth midfielder Bournemouth Eunan O'Kane will be absent after being called up to the Republic of Ireland Under 21's squad.
Left back Charlie Daniels missed the Cherries last game at Portsmouth with a hamstring injury and remains doubtful.
MacDonald scored a brace against Portsmouth in the Football League Trophy on Tuesday and will be looking forward to taking that form to Huish Park.
The midfielder enjoyed four loan spells with Yeovil between 2009 and 2011 making over 60 appearances.
