AFC Bournemouth vs. Preston

Dean Court

25th August 2012

3pm

Cherries host Preston

AFC Bournemouth will be aiming to make it five points from their opening three League One games after starting the new campaign with two 1-1 draws against Portsmouth and MK Dons.

Preston are still searching for their first goal of the new season after drawing 0-0 with Colchester and losing 1-0 to Shrewsbury.

Vital Quotes:

Preston manager Graham Westley told pnefc.net...

"They are spending astronomical amounts of money. Lee Barnard was a player that attracted me, but we couldn`t get anywhere near the deal that was done for him. It is frightening the extent to which they are competing in this league. They`ve got the pick of the players, investing really heavily and having a real crack at it and you can`t underestimate aside that is doing that. It is not going to be an easy trip.'

AFC Bournemouth Team News:

AFC Bournemouth striker Josh McQuoid has begun jogging following a scan on his ankle earlier this week but isn't expected to be involved.

Donal McDermott missed the game against MK Dons with the mumps, while midfielder Richard Hughes, utility man Stephen Purches and strikers Frank Demouge and Charlie Sheringham remain unavailable.

Player to watch: Lewis Grabban

Lewis Grabban joined the Cherries from League Two side Rotherham United over the summer.

The pacey forward had also been a target for Preston North End and will be looking to add to his goalscoring tally after netting his first goal for the club on Tuesday.

Preston Team News:

Preston captain John Mousinho and midfielder Joel Byrom are both doubtful ahead of the game, whilst Lee Trundle will definitely miss out.

Player to watch: Lee Holmes

Spent the last four years with south coast neighbours Southampton before joining Preston on a free transfer in the summer.

Made his Preston league debut against Shrewsbury during Tuesday's 1-0 defeat.

I think we have to utilize grabban as a striker rather than a wide man withg McQouid still out
AFCB_FAN
just to say grabban missed 2 open goals in the first 2 games, but i agree i'd rather he was up front than thomas, and it looked in the first half on tuesday that him and barnard linked up well
afcblover
Well supposedly Franchises LB had Grabban in his back pocket when fletch came on, i reckon we'll stick with the same team as started on tuesday.
AFCB_FAN
I'm hoping we stick with the same team as Tuesday
