Carlisle vs. AFC Bournemouth

Brunton Park

20.08.11

3pm

Preview vs. Carlisle (a)

After the disappointment of Tuesday`s home defeat to Stevenage the Cherries have taken to the skies ahead of the longest away trip of the season at Carlisle.

he squad flew up on Friday afternoon to avoid scenes that met them on their way to Charlton just a couple of weeks ago.

ee Bradbury has a hard task ahead to re motivate his players following a stop/start performance on Tuesday night against a well drilled and rugged opponent. Bournemouth have so far picked up just three points out of a possible nine so far this term.

ur hosts have had a mixed start to the season so far collecting four points. They responded to being trounced opening day with points on their travels at Bury and Rochdale.

Carlisle Team News:

Boss Greg Abbott has no new injury worries ahead of this weekend`s fixture. Striker Rory Loy was subbed early on in the second half on Tuesday, but is fit to play. 'Keeper Adam Collin should stay between the sticks having kept back to back clean sheets away from home.

Player to watch: Jon-Paul McGovern

The winger signed over the summer from relegated Swindon Town has been a key figure in Carlisle`s decent start to the 2011/12 season. A set-piece specialist with an eye for goal and will need to be watched very carefully this weekend.

AFC Bournemouth Team News:

Steve Lovell is pushing for a place in the squad after coming through training this week. Steven Gregory received a cut to the face and may not make it whilst Captain Adam Barrett is suspended following his sending off midweek, Mathieu Baudry looks set to replace him.

Player to watch: Harry Arter

Should Gregory fail a fitness test then Arter will be the obvious choice to fill the void. Having netted from the bench in Cherries two previous games, the former Carlisle loanee will be eager to prove he is deserving of a more regular starting position.

Match Facts & Stats

The Cherries haven't won at Brunton Park since 2003.

Match Prediction:

Carlisle 1-1 AFCB The Cherries will have a point to prove tomorrow following Tuesdays disappointment and Carlisle will prove a tough test. If we can return south with a point it`ll be seen as a good days work.

not sure of any result this season, like to get a point but that would be really something, but hey we normally do well when it seems not possible. UTCIAD

feeney, pugh and arter could win it for us and i fancy taylor to score a brace. I'm confident about this one carlisle aren't a good footballing side, it could come down to who scores first

HOW? How did we loose??? Bradderz needs too bring back what he changed from Eddie Howe because what he's doing isn't working end of.

..Bradders is no Eddie Howe, and he will live and die by what happens over the next three or four months I reckon, which is a shame if it doesn't work out, because he was sort of thrown in by the club?

Yeah but why changed the way we were playing from the Crystal & Cardiff game? I know it was onlt pre-season matches but seriously we played great football. And yet at the start of the seaosn we're playing nothing like that. Just constant hoofs, long passes from the back and the full backs arn't doing good enough when backing up their wingers. I thought they would get the idead but Maloney is only just getting their but needs to be closer to Pugh at time and needs too be far quiker on his toes and as for Byrne he backs up Feeney about twice in a game and spend most of the game being selfish. Overall the team don't look quik on their toes and are becoming wreckles and lazy. We just want the Arsenal style of football back and I gaurantee it will enhance are players preformance, Gergory will find his way and even if we loose, win or draw atleast the games will be exciting.

grow some balls now bradders. you have to start jalal and ask EM permission to sign players. I feel sorry for LB it seems EM is the one who takes care of all the transfers and Lee has lost almost all of the great team we had last season, he is under immense pressure now. The pressure should be on the board, because we are a sinking ship and not even alex ferguson could turn our fortunes around with EM running the club. I wouldn't be surprised if one of mitchells boys is in the team for the next game and the other one who hired bradders will be the one to sack him. Is anyone really surprised we lost?

the eddie howe era was great for this club, such a buzz hadn't been felt since redknapp - I just hope the EM era ends soon, so we can start a new one, which will take a few years to build a great team like the one we had at the start of last season - what a shame as we were championship bound

what i want to know is when over the summer did LB think i've lost a great skipper, interest in a promising striker lost a midfield general in hollands interest in robbo, lost our loanees, and then think i'll replace them with a gk, idiot, dont mean to sound fickle but get LB out.... contacts crap replacements aren't up to the standard, performances crap lets start a fresh because lets face it LB had 15 games last season to learn

We get only like 5 or 6000 gate. Who in thier right minds would see Buying Bournemouth as an investment?

We just need to get more people down there and increase the size and profile of the club, instead of encouraging Boycotts because some people disagree with the chairman! If EM was to sell the club, do you honestly think that a rich chairman who wants to through money at new signings and the ambition to climbs the leagues would buy a club with a 6000 gate???????????????????????? Its just not going to happen. And if it did, the guy must have some sort of mental health issues and would be worse than EM. GET YOUR FRIENDS, WORKMATES, FAMILY, EMPLOYEES, WHOEVER, to stop supporting arsenal from thier armchairs and get down dean court!!!!!

Yeah we could try that, or we could try some deals to get the younger generation to come and support their team. Make an offer so under 10s get in free if there is a paying adult and a paying under16 ( between ages 10-16). Make a deal for families, two paying adults any under 15s get free or if over halkf tickets. ANother one, if there is 2 paying adults the other one gets half price. Simples, If we could get more people too watch the club by doing stuff like that then they might realize, I like watching live football i'll come more often and that will increase our attendances, thus meaning our budget.

^ ^ ^ Totally. So many clubs offer kids for a quid and stuff like that. And the reason most blokes dont go is because it costs a fortune to bring the kids along too!!! Familly tickets are a cracking idea too. And better advertising in town too. We just need people to know how good the league actually is

And not just in the town, i live an hour away from Bournemouth and enjoy coming down, although i would anjoy watching a team that is good instead of youngsters who aren't ready to play and some non-league rejects. But i', sure theres some small towns around Bournemouth who would like to see some live foobtall.

skyline you talk almost as much BS as you personal associate EM - 7,000+ average gate is a good attendance for league 1, you simply can't compare our gates to giant clubs like charlton, sheffield utd, sheffield wednesday and preston because they are premiership/championship size clubs. I totally agree with kids for a quid, i know last season - season ticket holders could bring under 7 years old junior cherries members for free which was excellent, but i think we should target the 11-18 year olds because really young kids aren't often that interested in football. - the FACT is we have got loads of money to spend but EM doesn't want to use the clubs income for the club and he is an arrogant B'S'ing W'ker blaming the fans for his theft - what an insult to those of us who are the ones putting money into his pockets, it's like he's rubbing it in our face. EM hurry up and jog on so our club can live up to its potential under a chairman and board who want success at our club
