...and assuming Cook isn’t out for too long, does he make his way back into the team or do we keep with Fraser at wing back? Could argue that Fraser is slightly wasted in that position, but equally I can’t see how either Ibe or Stanislas can be dropped on current form to accommodate him further up the pitch.

Tricky one for Eddie!

Smith at wing back ideally, and pick 2 from from Ibe, Stan and Fraser for the wing slots. Whichever misses out comes on second half and causes chaos. What's not to like.

Id keep Fraser there if we stick with a back 3. Smith was actually somewhat out of form on the right before his injury; his good performances came from the left. Fraser has at the very least been equal to Smith in terms of defending, and offers much more going forward imo.

Also, I feel like Smith is much worse when playing further forward. His runs are good when he drives from defence into attack, but when further forward he tends to stop doing this and plays more sideways passes. IMO.

No need to change a winning team, especially with Fraser being a top performer in this run of form at RWB.

Agree with northstandmark . If Eddie was forced into using Wee Man as sub for a while, I don't think he would be too upset about coming on fresh with 30 minutes to go and with his speed creating havoc. It might only be a few games and his attitude is good. The team spirit helps! All for one purpose.

NW cherries98 view is also a good angle to work from if considering Smiths strengths and weaknesses.

Don’t know if it’s just me but I’ve been really impressed with Smith when he’s played on the left recently. Against the weaker teams like Everton, he basically played as a 2nd winger behind Fraser. They couldn’t handle that combination with Smith cutting inside onto his right foot like most wingers do these days.

Agree. If we want to play 3 at he back while Cook is out, it could be Francis, Ake and Daniels, with Fraser (on the right) and Smithy (left) as wingbacks.

Eddie says that Cookie and Smudger are both potentially in contention for Sunday. Surprising about Cookie, but maybe it's all smoke and mirrors.

Makes selection a bit more of a conundrum (in a good way).

...let's hope we don't rush either of them back too soon? I would give Simpson a run out to see if he can prove himself, after all he was selected against the best team in this league why not against arguably the worst team ?

Maybe I'm getting a little overconfident, but I do think Simpson would be a good call and would not jeopardize a very winnable situation.

My only concern with WeeMan as wing back is his wee-ness. Crosses from our left to the back post could leave hime very exposed. But if Smith and S Cook are out tomorrow, I would put Simpson in for Cook and stick with 3-5-2. The onus is on Huddersfield to win and our ability to break with pace could really trouble them
