Olly got his ticket on the very limited official ticket swap - I get you a ticket if I get some for your concerts

I don't know what Souness said but Neil is right about the switch in formation leading to our improved performances and results.

Souness basically said (on several occasions) that we shouldn't attack the top six sides. The pressing and the flowing football Eddie has attempted to persevere with just won't work against the top six. He also said Eddie was naive and had no plan B. (I'm sure he reads this forum)

Our formation may have been tweaked but Eddie has never changed his principals. More than that in my opinion the return of Stan, the exceptional form of Fraser and the bedding in of Lewis Cook has made a tremendous difference.

What we never see from the critics on here and TV is a little bit of humility when they get it wrong.

Don’t worry though red house, they’re already sharpening their knives waiting for the next defeat.

No plan B,scouting network,Eddie too loyal blah blah blah.......

All very predictable & repetitive.

Is Souness the expert related to this Souness ?

In May 2008, Souness was named by newspaper Observer Sport Monthly as the "Worst Football Manager", citing his failings at Newcastle and Liverpool as the main reasons.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graeme_Souness#Managerial_career

Graeme Souness: My Rangers EBT was for scouting players
Former Rangers boss Graeme Souness claims the tax-free payment he received from the Ibrox club 10 years after leaving the club was for scouting work. The former Light Blues player/manager was given a £30,000 sum as part of the controversial employee benefit trust (EBT) scheme run by the Glasgow giants in the first decade of the century.

Quite right Red house nice to see some of us can remember what the expert Souness actually said... Despite Neil's best attempts at rewriting the facts to in a way excuse his own criticism of Eddie...
As Rob mentioned above what Souness actually said was that Bournemouth can't "match up" against the top six sides and expect to get a result... He also Eddie was being extremely naive to think we could.
Now Neil... without any spin... Has Souness been proven right or completely wrong?...

I don't usually get upset at what is termed JCL as I was one at the end of 1959- 60 but Souness and Murs! I imagine they will be in the Prawn Cabinet or some such privileged cavity! Grhhhwl!

Top Farrier.... loathe though I am to justify myself to someone so misogynist to have a naked woman fishing as their profile picture...you didn’t specify which incident around Souness you were referring to in your original post. I’m not a mind reader.

Red house thinks it’s one particular comment. I am going back over several years of Souness’s criticism of us some of which is valid, some not. He is ever present on our screens because he lives in Sandbanks. Had Pulis stayed unemployed me might have got a break from Graham...but no.

He has spoken about the naivety of playing in three straight lines and he is one of just a few including people on here. He also has talked about attacking top teams with overlapping full backs and leaving yourself wide open at the back...as has Shearer.

Now..it’s ironic people saying I will be back moaning about no Plan B. I can tell you I won’t as we now have one. This was all people were asking for. Like Fritter and SDD said...it should have happened sooner but finally we have what we want. You won’t get any plan b complaints from me.

I’m not sure what I have to admit to being wrong about though? Wanting Lewis Cook playing? Wanting Smith to start and not have Franno at right back? Not wanting king wasted in the hole? Not wanting Defoe keeping someone with pace out? Not wanting Steve Cook sat on the bench? You will need to let me know.

have to admit to being wrong about

citing Souness as a reliable witness ? Like most experts from a different era he has no interest or knowledge of clubs outside the big names. He has a history of failing as a manager when the talking had to be done on the pitch.

Sometimes he is right, sometimes wrong in my opinion. Like most pundits. That doesn’t mean they are right or wrong when I think they are....just that my opinion matches.

He foretold the need for wholesale changes to our system. So did a lot of us on here. Eddie had the same opinion and did it. Nobody in their right mind thinks this has anything to do with the fact he took influence from pundits or us. He is a bright guy and normally makes the right decisions.

What’s odd is people saying he has proved any criticism wrong. Had he stayed with 4-4-2, Arter and Surman in midfield and Franno at right back and won 3-0 at Chelsea that would have been proving the criticism wrong.....

Souness is paid by sky to have opinions. He probably doesn’t believe half of what he says, he just needs to be critical

If he chooses to spend his retirement watching the cherries he’s alright by me

Several YEARS of Souness criticism of our manager you say Neil !!!... And he still doesn't realise he's completely wrong!... He must be a bigger fool than i give him credit for... Either that or he just doesn't like to admit he is wrong.... Ah i can now see why you value his opinion so much... :hihi:.. Must be nice to recognise a kindred spirit.
BTW I'm devastated that my profile picture upset you so much that you felt compelled to mention it...i will only be too pleased to change it.

No. Several years of pointing out what’s wrong and what’s right in his opinion. Some of which I agree with and some I don’t. Lots of very positive stuff too. His comments on openness and predictability I did agree with, as did quite a few people and more importantly Eddie obviously reached the same conclusion. Part of why he is such a fantastic manager.

Don’t twist words. There is no greater fan of Eddie than me, the difference is some people can talk about his relatively few areas of improvement and others think it’s sacrilege because we are in our highest ever league position.

I can understand both these views to be fair.

It must be so nice for some supporters on this forum that have never ever been wrong in their opinions ..Either that or they don't have any and just snipe at posters that do .
Will look forward to your next match report Farrier ,although I can imagine whatever the result everything will be perfect without a single critique of players or management .

It’s hard to find time to write a match report when you are tucked away with Naked Fisherwomen do Dublin 8......

Which having watched it lacks the plot complexity of NFDD 7 but certainly tops NFDD 11 for cinematography.

Probably a better watch than Rantie 2 and Rantie 4

Nothing wrong with having an opinion wallmth as long as you are willing to admit when it is wrong.
I have to say Neil that you must have exceptional eyesight... Either that or you've looked at that picture very very closely....
