....mistakes at the back will put us at risk of going down, so we can’t afford the same players putting us in trouble?

Howe just needs to think hard about his defence, after all he threw Simpson in against Man City and Chelsea?

Def no campaign against Franno. The issue is taking responsibility as onfield leader. It would make a difference to a defence prone to error.

SUrprised we didn’t see Simpson today given the need to rotate (and apparent niggle for Ake).
He will earn a consistent place in the side of he keeps performing as he has been.

Sorry but the recruitment has too be mentioned....

We have given ourselves such a massive job to do this summer. There has been no gradual additions on the whole (excluding a couple positive ones) therefore we are in the predicament we're in which is when our current players aren't performing, there is no one too come in and replace which gives us a massive rebuilding job in the summer.

This January is the biggest transfer window of Eddie's career so far IMO

I agree about the need for additions to the squad, but I don't think January is going to be the most important transfer window.
I think we'll be OK to stay up this season with current personnel. However, this is a very critical time when some new players need to start fitting into the squad, so I would expect to see any big business done in the summer.

Think we have been unlucky with mings who was developing well and capable of being a first choice defender.

Agree on Pugh. I love him to bits and he's obviously such a decent guy but I think this season has been a bridge too far for him. It says a lot when Smith and Fraser on the left seems the more effective duo than Pugh and Daniels.
