I know, I know... the source. Still, it's one that has come up a few times now:

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/5155508/harry-arter-west-ham...

I know a few on here are ambivalent about it but I would be gutted if he left. I don't think EH will sell though whilst we're under threat of relegation.

....would be hard to see him leave, but if we get an offer of 15 million plus then It would be a decent fee for him. Maybe Harry himself needs a fresh challenge?

Sentiment is one thing, but good business is another?

Don't want him to go if he can rediscover his old form. But if he does go it is all about getting someone in that is better.

I thought he looked his old self against Man United,I think he is realising his place is under serious threat from L Cook.
I wouldn't want to see him leave,I think he can still be a big player for us.

If he has to go - in the summer please? Would be fresh start for our midfield future but not to West Ham or any other bottom half club in January! GREAT servant to Cherries!

The disappointing thing is we would not get more than £5m for him. Everyone knows he only cost £4,000 and big clubs will still think that to little Bournemouth £5m is a lot of money.

It does seem a bit perverse selling to a team that could potentially send us down.

Eh? Based on what? We sold Ritchie for £12 million because a club really wanted him. I don't think he'll be going to a big club (sorry West Ham but you're nothing more than a middling PL club and that's likely as far as it will ever go) and if any club tried that we could simply point at the Ake and Ibe fees. Any club paying that will expect proper remuneration for players that they don't have to sell.

Harry is contracted to us until 2021 so if someone wants him they're going to have to offer him a package of such an uplift he would push for the move (like Ritchie) and pay the asking price, which in the current market isn't low.

I think people are getting a little carried away with a poor patch of form. He's regularly shown that he can compete at PL level and Eddie tied him down to a long deal in the summer. 10 poor games later and everyone thinks it's a fait accompli that he will be going in January and don't seem all that sorry about it.

I know the clamour for Lewis Cook is strong but he's being built up to a worrying level in some respects. He's still young and we need other options than just him.

Exactly this. why on earth would we want to sell one of our better players?

Hmmm. I dont remember saying he'll leave or that we'll sell him like others have mentioned on here, however, should he or EH decide that he is no longer needed or up to the standard required I don't believe we'll get the sort of money for him that others expect. Ritchie left because we couldnt offer the wages that Newcastle offered.

I doubt that’s true. The window isn’t open yet

The window may not be open, but there’s deals already done and in place.

I was sent a text from good source yesterday, saying that a bid had gone in from West Ham ..... but not knowing if how much that bid was.

I would imagine that something around £10m might open the doors ...

Harry has done a lot for this club so wouldn’t be surprised if Eddie doesn’t stand in his way....but it maybe end of season as so hard to replace in January and we will need harry’s aggressive style of play in the forthcoming 6 pointers.
