I'm happy with it, now means I can get the train to Gatwick straight from Brighton and fly back to Dubai without taking holiday on the 2nd.

8:17 is pretty much the only train you can get from Bournemouth if you're going to make kick off. Via Pompey too - there used to be a direct Southampton to Brighton train.

I'd be surprised if we sell the full allocation now.

Oh dear

what a load of sh ite..SW trains chucking in a trip to Fratton on new years day but to be fair they had no idea of the change. Perhaps they'll do a couple of directs via scum. If they advertise it, it might be worth their while.

Will go to this game. I will probably drive it with the little one. What is the parking like outside the Amex?

You can't.

The train is free from Worthing with the ticket, so drive there and get the choo choo .

Don't you have to change at Brighton for Falmer red_house?

Cheers mate. Is there any decent pubs around the ground. My guessing is it is one of those giant white elephants with no bar in 20 minutes walk - but don't worry there is a B&Q

There still is via Cosham as I get that train for every home game, but there's engineering work at Southampton, Eastleigh and Cosham over Christmas and New Year.

Alternatively you can drive past the ground to Lewes and get the train from there. Only one train needed and a shorter queue at Falmer than the one going back into Brighton. Good pubs in Lewes too. Not sure what the NYD service will be like though.

Typical. If Southampton to Pompey and Pompey to Brighton trains are still running surely they can run one or two straight through.

Lewes is a good option unless you can get to Brighton early. Should be no early games on New Year’s Day!

It's not that simple the track splits as you come out of Cosham from Southampton. One takes you to Pompey and the other to Bedhampton and then onto Brighton and it's that bit of track where the engineering work is. So other than going via Fratton you would be looking at replacement buses.

Was very easy either Boxing Day or NYD last time. Street parking restrictions were all excluding bank holidays.
