'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bond: Terrific news about Dazza

Cherries boss Kevin Bond has described it as terrific news that Darren Anderton has agreed to a new one year deal.

Speaking to the Daily Echo Bondy said: 'It's terrific news for everybody connected with the football club that Darren has agreed to stay for another year.

'I think he's had a particularly good season and got better as the year has gone on. He has fully justified having another year. I think he's keen to stay so I'm really delighted to have him signed up.'

Bond added: 'He's just got that quality. He doesn't give the ball away, and, nine times out of 10, he makes the right decision when he's on the ball. There is no getting away from quality and he's got exceptional quality on the ball and has been a calming influence for us.

'He's like a cross-country runner and running isn't a problem. I've said it hundreds of times and although he might look tired after 10 minutes, he doesn't look any different after 85 so I think he's got another year or two left in him yet and we're glad to have him.'

How old is he now then?

2 years older than Fletcher and missed more games than him through injury and suspension, despite only joining in September.
