Howe: Hopefully Cargill does very well

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is hopeful that defender Baily Cargill will enjoy his time with Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle.

Cargill was recalled early from his loan spell with League One side Fleetwood Town in January.

The 22 year old had joined Fleetwood on what was intended to be a full season loan, but after 18 appearances, including 9 League One starts, he lost his place in the team and hadn't featured in a league game since before Christmas.

Then Fleetwood Town manager Uwe Rosler, sacked this week, put this lack of first team opportunities down to a change of formation from three centre backs to a flat back four.

Cargill was then sent out on loan to Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle, where he has already played 6 times, including two games against Celtic and once against Rangers.

The Scottish FA Cup tie against Celtic was played in front of 24,000 spectators.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

'...The games up there are very high-profile. There is a lot of media coverage, the crowds are good.

'Baily will certainly benefit from the experiences he will get up there.

'I know Scottish football very well from my brother (Steve Lovell) playing up there, so I know the quality is good and I hope Baily does very well.'

Hope he does well up there. Big few months for him really as Eddie will obviously want to see him step up his game and prove he can challenge down here... At his age you'd have thought he would have done that already, if he was going to, but lets hope his time north of the border gets him his much needed game time...

Be great to see him and Simpson challenging next season.
