Francis: Can we kick on?

Francis: Can we kick on?

AFC Bournemouth captain Simon Francis insists that the first target is to avoid relegation from the top flight of English football.

Then and only then, will the squads focus then turn to trying to improve upon last seasons points tally and finish.

AFC Bournemouth are now seven games unbeaten in the Premier League and have climbed to 9th in the division with 31 points from 26 games.

At this point in the season during the 2016/17 campaign the Cherries were 14th with 26 points.

That season AFC Bournemouth would go on to finish 9th with 46 points.

Francis told the Daily Echo prior to the win over Stoke City...

"First and foremost, we still have our eye on maintaining our Premier League status.

"That has always been the most important thing and has been in the past two seasons. Then, we ask where can we go and can we kick on?

'...We set out some goals and wanted to improve, that has always been the aim of this club and the manager has instilled that belief and determination in us to try to improve year-on-year.

"Improvement on last season would be a higher position but finishing in and around there would be massive for the club and that will be our aim."

Don't know what the hangover was 1st half, but 2nd half excellent.
We always looked like getting an equaliser.

The Mousse is up and running at last, and Josh's goal will see the confidence streaming back.

9th eh?
2 more wins should do it....With games to spare.

A happy week indeed.
