Blake: Work can now start on exciting project

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake was delighted with the news that AFC Bournemouth's proposed training ground complex was not called in by the Secretary of State.

In August, AFC Bournemouth submitted plans for a new training ground complex at Canford Magna.

The 57-acre Canford Magna Golf Club site is set to house ten full-size pitches, three junior pitches, an indoor artificial playing surface, state-of-the-art medical, fitness, sports science and rehabilitation facilities, administrative space and a press conference theatre.

The complex would be used by AFC Bournemouth's first team, development squad, academy and pre-academy training operations.

Councillors unanimously voted in favour of the development.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told afcb.co.uk...

'I`m delighted that the Secretary of State has not called in our planning application for the club`s proposed new training complex, This means we can start work on an exciting project; one which is crucial for the present and future of AFC Bournemouth.

'While it is important to provide Premier League facilities for Premier League players, we also want to give the region`s youngsters the best place to develop their talent, and we believe this complex will be the perfect place to do that.'

I bet wherever Joe Roach is right now he'll be having a good chuckle to himself.

From what he's worked with during his career here..,A youth setup held together from string and sellotape, having to plead for new cones and nets every now and again. To what will be in place in the coming years, 57 acres full of purpose built pitches and facilities.

Unreal.
