Cherries to receive £15million offer for Afobe?

Could AFC Bournemouth receive a £15million bid for striker Benik Afobe from Crystal Palace next month?

According to a report by The Sun...

'Roy Hodgson wants to sign out-of-favour Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe for £15million in January.

The 24 year old, who has recently adopted DR Congo as his nation at international level first became a prolific goalscorer during his spell at stadium:MK in 2014 where he made 30 appearances, scoring 19 times.

That form led to a permanent switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2015 for a fee of around £2million.

He ended the season making 21 appearances in the Championship, scoring 13, pushing his season tally to 32.

During the summer of 2015 he broke into the England Under 21's side for the first time and was the subject of a reported £10million bid from Norwich City.

Those advances were rejected and he went on to make an additional 27 appearances, scoring 10 goals until Wolves agreed a deal in the region of £9million with AFC Bournemouth in January 2016.

During his time on the south coast he has scored six times and earned three assists from 41 Premier League appearances. However over half of those appearances have come from the bench and he has totalled just 1,806 minutes or just 45 minutes per appearance.

This season he has made just four Premier League starts and according to the report that lack of first team football is what Crystal Palace are hoping to use to tempt him from Dean Court.

An anonymous Crystal Palace source told The Sun...

"Roy is a big fan of Benik`s from when he was playing for the England Under-21s.

'With the club in a pickle at the foot of the table, it is difficult for him to find players to come to the club.

'But he believes Benik would be perfect because he is not getting much game time at Bournemouth and would be a player that would be hungry for games."

I think it would be unwise to let him go now. Worst comes to worst and King and Wilson don't develop good chemistry then it'd be nice to have our tried and tested partnership of King and Afobe to fall back on. - Join the conversation here.

I would only let him go for 20 million, otherwise he is valuable to us as a squad striker...a swap for Giroud would be nice!
