Mings would consider Barbados call-up

AFC Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings would consider representing Barbados at international level if he were to be handed a call-up.

The 24 year old was formally AFC Bournemouth's record signing when he made the move from Ipswich Town to the Cherries in June 2015 for a reported £8million.

Injuries since the move to the south coast have limited him to just ten Premier League appearances in that time, including seven starts.

Two of those starts came in back to back games during this campaign against Manchester City and Arsenal, with Mings impressing on the left hand side of a back three.

However a back injury has sidelined him since early September and Mings is not expected to return for at least another month.

But despite his lack of league football over the past two and a half seasons, he has been asked whether he would consider representing Barbados if asked.

Mings told the Daily Echo...

'I have quite a lot of family ties in Barbados, uncles and aunties who live there, so my family connection is quite strong.

'I would potentially consider playing for Barbados in the future. I haven't considered it until now because I don't think that question ever got asked (by the media) when I was at Ipswich.

'But it's a beautiful country.'

What's our best Back 4?

Mings should be in this discussion as well. I'd say he's still probably below Ake and Cook, same as Francis, but he looked really good up until his injury. He looked the best and most comfortable out of everyone in a back three as well, which I guess is something for EH to consider when he's back fit.
