Howe: So pleased for Callum Wilson

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was delighted for striker Callum Wilson following his hat-trick against Huddersfield Town.

In only his third Premier League appearance following a devastating knee injury and his first start in the Premier League at Dean Court, Callum Wilson bagged three goals as the Cherries knocked off newly promoted Huddersfield Town 4-0.

Wilson scored the opener with a near post header and just five minutes later he had notched his second at the back post following an excellent delivery from Andrew Surman.

His third and the Cherries fourth, came in the second half after excellent play by Joshua King to hold the ball up and the lay it off perfectly for Wilson.

Howe told Sky Sports...

'I'm so pleased for Callum Wilson, it's been a long, long journey. He's had several ups and downs.

'He was at the peak of his powers when he scored that hat-trick at West Ham when we first entered the Premier League, it looked like he had the world at his feet and that's how quickly things can change in football.

'He's had a bleak time but he's always stayed positive throughout it. He has a great attitude towards his life and his football and I'm delighted he got his reward today.'

I am absolutely over the moon for Wilson... and for us because we've got an outstanding player fit and firing again. I can't think of a more pleasing performance. - Join the conversation here.
