Cherries co-owners set to buy League of Ireland side

AFC Bournemouth co-owners Peak6 are reportedly in negotiations to purchase League of Ireland Premier Division side Dundalk.

AFC Bournemouth majority shareholder Maxim Demin sold 25% of his 100% stake in the Cherries to Chicago based company Peak 6 towards the end of 2015.

Peak 6 co-founder and CEO Matt Hulsizer and Peak 6 chief corporate development and legal officer Jay Coppoletta joined the Cherries board after the purchase was completed.

Hulsizer already has an interest in professional sport as he holds an ownership interest in the Minnesota Wild of the United States of America's National Hockey League.

But he could be about to spread his investments further.

According to a report by

Hulsizer has already had discussions with Dundalk owners Paul Brown and Andy Connolly, and if a deal was to be struck the pair would still be very much a part of the club going forward.

Garry Doyle of the Times broke the story and stated in his piece that Peak6`s plan involves rebuilding Oriel Park as a 7,500-seater stadium complete with corporate facilities and building a schoolboy structure which would make the club self-financing.
