Howe: Mousset could become an outstanding player

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has praised developing striker Lys Mousset.

AFC Bournemouth completed the signing of Lys Mousset from French club Le Havre for an undisclosed fee reported to be in the region of €7.3million in June 2016.

During his last season in France he scored 14 goals in 29 appearances for Ligue 2 side Le Havre, who almost won promotion to the top flight of French football.

His appearances since making the move to the south coast of England however have been limited.

Last season he made 14 appearances for the Cherries including 3 Premier League starts.

This season, due to injuries to Jermain Defoe, Joshua King and Callum Wilson only just returning from a long standing injury, Mousset has been handed a few starts.

He has already made 6 Premier League appearances.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

'When you consider the player who first came to us, I think he has made dramatic strides in many areas of his game.

'I think there is so much more to come. I see the player in training every day so I'm at an advantage to other people - I see what is there and what he can become in the future.

'He has the ability to go right to the top. He has lots of things he needs to improve to get there but I don't think we've seen the very best of him in a Bournemouth shirt yet.

'There is lots of hard work ahead of Lys but, ultimately, he could become an outstanding player.'

Lewis Grabban...come back all is forgiven.

Grabban v Moussett..........who would you rather have at this precarious time?......Grabban who knows how we play...scores goals and holds the ball up better than Afobe ever will or Lys Moussett who is young and runs about a bit.
