Howe: Smith will avoid surgery

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that Australian left back Brad Smith will avoid surgery on his injured hip.

The 23 year old signing from Liverpool in 2016 has played just 5 Premier League games since making the move to Dean Court.

He has struggled to earn a spot ahead of the consistent Charlie Daniels, but he has also struggled with numerous injuries, the latest coming during Australia's World Cup qualifying play-off against Syria.

Howe told the the Daily Echo...

"Brad has seen a specialist.

'We think he won`t need surgery but he is going to be out for a period of time."
