Howe: Ibe is now seeing some progression and reward

AFC Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe could be enjoying his breakthrough season at Dean Court.

The former England Under 21's international was the Cherries record signing when he joined from Liverpool for a fee in the region of £15million in July 2016.

He went on to make 25 Premier League appearances totalling 1,059 minutes of football without a single assist or goal.

This season he has thus far looked more dangerous, with his stand out performance earning him the Sky Sports man of the match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ibe was introduced with 25 minutes remaining with the Cherries 1-0 down.

Come full time, AFC Bournemouth had won the match with goals from Andrew Surman and Jermain Defoe, with Ibe collecting two assists.

The following game he completed 90 minutes for AFC Bournemouth for the first time, his first full 90 minutes in the Premier League since May 2016.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"Working with Jordon, I have always seen someone who wants to do well and he certainly has the talent and the tools.

"Trying to put it all together in the toughest league in the world is not easy, especially for someone so young.

"But he has been coming in on his days off. He has done extra work with all the coaches and has shown that willingness to improve and develop himself...'

'...He has been patient and, hopefully, he is now seeing some progression and reward for all the endeavour he has put in."

I know one swallow does not a summer make, but seeing as Jordan has now had two consecutive 'good' games, I thought it was time to give him a new song, way better than that horrendous na na hey hey Jordan Ibe rubbish.

Slightly plagiarised from a very clever song from the Palace fans for Yohan Cabaye to the tune of Afromans 'because I got high'

Stay with me here because it is pretty catchy and a good ole song to sing and create some atmosphere. Pretty sure the lyrics could be amended. Now who can honestly say they would prefer to continue to sing the current Ibe song over this beauty....

'We're gonna score a goal, I'll tell you why!
(Oooh oooh)
We're gonna rip your defence in two, down the right.
(La da da dada dada)
Now were scoring goals and I know why, (why man?)
Yeah heyyyyy
Because we've got Ibe, because we've got Ibe, Jordan Ibe
La la la lalalala'
(Repeat forever)
