Daniels: We've got a little bit of our mojo back

AFC Bournemouth left back Charlie Daniels believes the Cherries players got a little bit of their mojo back following the defeat to Manchester City.

After the disappointment of the opening two defeats to West Bromwich Albion and Watford, AFC Bournemouth responded with a far greater performance at home to Manchester City.

Whilst the Cherries ultimately lost the game to a last gasp winner, AFC Bournemouth impressed many, with Charlie Daniels opening goal the catalyst to the improved display.

Daniels told the Daily Echo...

'It was a very good goal and it was nice how it ended up. The ball bounced nicely as I was running on to it so I thought I would have a shot.

'I've scored a few good goals but that's definitely the best so far. Maybe I should shoot a little bit more often if everything ends up like that. If it falls like that, why not?

'...In the first couple of games we were just too flat. We probably needed that to kick-start our season. If you saw the way we played, our doggedness off the ball, the way we fought and put our bodies on the line, how determined we were, it was very pleasing.

'We've got a little bit of our mojo back so altogether it was good apart from the result.'

3 at the back was clearly a big success today. Ake made a few errors but it was great to see Cook and Mings play so well.

I'm sure Eddie will switch back to a 4 soon enough but a variation on the 3-5-2 or the more attacking 3-4-1-2 (with the addition of an attacking creative midfielder) would suit us so well.

You could also see that the extra man in midfield allowed the freedom for on of them to break forward and make a run, something so lacking in the first 2 games.

With Mings and Ake's versatility, it is also easy to change to get wingers on should they be required.

Hope the formation stays for at the Arsenal game - certainly none of the 3 central defenders deserve to be dropped (doubt Ake will play that badly again).
