Cherries can't wait for season opener, but who will start?

AFC Bournemouth are all set to kick off the new Premier League campaign and are targeting all three points away at West Bromwich Albion.

Following a pre-season packed with games against English lower league sides and top European clubs, the Cherries return to action in the top flight of English football on Saturday.

AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook told afcb.co.uk...

'We can't wait now, It's come round quick but now we're ready to go to West Brom and get a positive result.

'We haven't won on the opening day for quite a while now and we're looking to get things right and off to a good start.'

But who will start? Who will AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe select for the curtain raiser of the new season?

I think Eddie has a real tough week and has a lot of decisions to make,as some fringe players have shone over pre season.
West Brom is a tough first away game, they are physical and we were well beaten there last time around although it was in the middle of a poor spell.
I have only seen the Valencia and Napoli games live and the rest on streams but this would be my team.

Boruc
Smith Ake Cook Daniels
Fraser L Cook Arter Pugh
King Afobe

Subs Begovic Francis Gosling Mings Gradel Ibe Defoe

I think Boruc finished last season well and has done well in pre season so deserves to keep his place.
I don't think Ake has come to warm the bench ,I know Franno is captain but I think Smith eclipses him as a right back now if Ake gets the nod.
On the wings with no Stanislas,I think Pugh will get the nod because of his Daniels partnership and defensive qualities, and he has had a good pre season.
Centre mid I think Arter is still our best player, and Cook finished last season very well and looked good against a good Napoli team.
Up front I'm not sure if Eddie is cleverly managing Defoes workload but I only saw him have 60 odd minutes of poor service v Valencia and a cameo v Pompey.
King is the obvious pick from last season, and Benik also finished last season very well and has found the net 3 times in pre season. Also there is Mousset who hasn't made my bench.

On the bench,Franno is a good back up centre back and right back,Mings the same but on the other side,Gradel and Ibe offer the competition on the wings,Gosling for me offers more than Surman, and obviously Jermaine is a great player to have off the bench.

The team in reality will probably be a lot different,as I know Eddie loves Surman, but we really have a load of conundrums all over the park.

I wouldn't like to be Eddie this week and there will be some disappointed players this Saturday !!

Thoughts ?
