Surridge makes Football League debut in 8-2 defeat

AFC Bournemouth striker Sam Surridge has made his football league debut having made a season long loan move to League Two side Yeovil Town.

The 19 year old follows in the footsteps of Brandon Goodship, Harry Cornick, Josh Wakefield, Ben Whitfield and Matt Butcher who have all made a temporary switch to Huish Park in recent seasons.

Surridge was named on the bench on Saturday away to Luton Town and made his debut coming on in the 70th minute with the score at 7-2 to Luton.

The game would end 8-2, with Yeovil later announcing that they would give their travelling supporters at the game a refund.

Speaking before the opening day 8-2 defeat to Luton Town, Yeovil Town manager Darren Way told

"Sam first came to our attention last January, and we feel this next move is a fantastic move for Sam and Yeovil Town, I`m sure he`ll follow on from the previous loanees we`ve had from Bournemouth in enjoying the environment here"

Meanwhile Ben Whitfield has joined Port Vale on a half season loan deal.
