Cook: I`d love to play for Bournemouth and Howe for years

AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook would like to remain playing under Cherries manager Eddie Howe on the south coast for years to come.

The Cherries defender won the player of the season award for the current campaign following a thus far season that has seen him play every minute.

Prior to the final day of the season away to Premier League champions Leicester City, Cook has played all 3,330 minutes of the 2016/17 season.

He has scored twice and been at the heart of a defence which has kept ten clean sheets.

Asked if he expected to agree a new contract over the summer, Cook told the Daily Echo...

'I don`t know. It`s difficult to say. The lads who have played all season have shown how committed they are to the club.

'I have played here for a long time now. I love living here and I love playing under the manager.

'Until the club stops growing, which I`m sure it won`t, then I`d love to play for Bournemouth and Eddie Howe for years to come.'
