Howe: We are under no pressure to sell

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes he can convince his squad to remain at Dean Court next season.

After finishing their maiden top flight season in 16th place on 42 points, the Cherries are set to eclipse both of those records in their second season.

AFC Bournemouth will finish the 2016/17 Premier League season in mid-table and could yet finish in the top half of the league.

Various players have impressed during the campaign, none more so than player of the season Steve Cook and top goalscorer Joshua King.

Both have been linked with potential interest from elsewhere, but Howe believes the squad will remain intact over the summer and improved upon with new signings.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"...we have ambitious plans. We don`t want to lose our best players, we want to bring in more so, hopefully, that will be achieved.

"I believe we can keep all our players and we are under no pressure to sell.

"I would like to think the players are happy here and are part of a team that is enjoying the ride we are on.

"We don`t want it to end. We want to continue to keep growing and we believe we can achieve special things."

The new normal

Its gone from playoffs of league two being a great season to thinking its realistic that we will make a continental competition in the next year or two.

Still expecting to wake up, this all be a dream that I am having at half time vs Crawley away under Groves.
