King: I need to prove myself again next season

AFC Bournemouth striker Joshua King insists his focus remains 100% on the Cherries following reported transfer interest in him this summer.

The Norwegian international scored his 16th goal of the season as AFC Bournemouth ran out winners against Burnley on Saturday.

12 of those goals for the 25 year old have come since the turn of the year.

His latest was a winner just minutes after Burnley had hit an equaliser through former AFC Bournemouth youth product Sam Vokes.

King was also fortunate to still be on the pitch after he was thankfully unscathed following an aggressive challenge from Tarkowski.

King told the BBC...

'I set myself a target of 15 goals at the start of the season. I have been building my confidence. Once you start scoring, it builds.

'This is my first season where I have scored like this. Next year I need to prove myself and do it again before you can talk about me with Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku.

'I can't wait for next season to start. I've enjoyed it here from day one. Being noticed by other clubs is positive but my focus is 100% here.'
