Howe: I live every loss more than any win

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has revealed that he aims to learn from every negative situation he finds himself in.

The Cherries ended an eight game run without a win on Saturday, beating West Ham United 3-2 with a last minute winner.

Prior to that run of games, the Cherries had been 9th, but the lack of results, including four successive defeats, had seen AFC Bournemouth begin to look over their shoulder.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"I feel I have had plenty of bad runs in my career, As you live every loss much more than you do any win, it stays with you and you hate it so much that you do everything you can to prevent it.

"This has been a really difficult run and it has been a testing time. But, in some senses, it could be a very positive thing for me.

"I always try to look at life that way. When you are tested and doubted, how strong can you be? How good a leader can you be in the bad times just as much as the good times? How you come through a spell like this is a really big test for a leader."

Seven from League One

Whenever we go on a poor run, Eddie eventually returns to the tried and trusted players from the League One promotion team, and immediately the team then look faster and more 'up for it'.

From the remaining 4 that started on Saturday, Boruc and Gosling were free transfers. King cost just £1m and only Afobe was a big money signing.

Banana skin avoided....eventually

Turned up at St Andrews with Eddie's promise to give youngsters a run out echoing in my ears, but was pleasantly surprised with the team we started with. The big Pole was back, with Mings and Smith (B) replacing Ake and Daniels. Gosling and Cook (L) were to be the dynamo of the team, with Wee Man and Puuuuugh feeding Mousset and (yes!!) Defoe. Confidence was pretty high amongst the Bournemouth faithful spread across the open part of the away end. The atmosphere was pretty much non-existent for t
