Francis: I had a little dip in form
AFC Bournemouth captain Simon Francis has confessed that his form has suffered as he has dipped in and out of the squad.
The Cherries defender was forced to sit out three matches after he was controversially sent off against Arsenal.
Following his return he has struggled with a hamstring injury, but he returned to the starting line-up following the five match ban handed to Tyrone Mings following the Manchester United fixture.
The game proved crucial, as it provided the Cherries with their first Premier League victory of the calendar year.
Francis told the Daily Echo...
"I found it really tough (missing matches). It was the first time in my Bournemouth career that I`ve been in and out of the team.
"I haven`t enjoyed it, especially as we haven`t picked up results. Watching that made it even tougher.
"I`ll be the first to admit I had a little dip in form, making individual mistakes that have cost us over the past few weeks...'
'...It did (add pressure), personally, after being suspended and injured, and not having had a run of games...'

Francis / Cargill?
I'd feel more confident in Cargill against a big, slow striker than a nimble tricky one.
With Francis, he's clearly still the better and more experienced player, but with all the positional switches and injuries ad suspensions, I'm not sure what specifically his strengths are as a defender anymore - Join the conversation here.
