'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Claridge: It's great to be back

Steve Claridge was delighted to have agreed a deal to bring him full circle in his playing career.

Claridge made his football league debut with Bournemouth in 1984 and a full 22 years later he has returned to the only club in Dorset.

Speaking to The Guardian Claridge said...

'I made my debut here 22 years ago and it's great to be back'

'It's not a gimmick. I want to play well and stay here as long as I can. You only give up football if you're injured or fed up, and I love the game.'

Why does he want to play for a club where the fans booed him for spectating earlier in the season?

I think he simply wants to play football, and I think he'll get a better reception now from certain sections of fans now. Do I take it that we don't count Weymouth as a club in Dorset then????

Claridge was reported to have said that about Weymouth while he was manager there. Hence why some of the AFCB fans don't like him.
