Cherry Bear signs new Vital deal

AFC Bournemouth mascot Cherry Bear has become the latest member of Eddie Howe's squad to sign a new contract after agreeing an extension with sponsors afcb.vitalfootball.co.uk.

Cherry Bear has put paw to paper on a new two-year deal, which means he will continue his long association with AFC Bournemouth's biggest fan website afcb.vitalfootball.co.uk.

Cherry Bear was first sponsored by the afcb.vitalfootball.co.uk website in 2006 and six years ago they paid for Cherry Bear's career saving operation, which has kept him running the touchline and putting smiles on Junior Cherries' faces ever since.

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was delighted with the new deal and said, 'I'm happy that afcb.vitalfootball.co.uk have agreed to extend Cherry Bear's current contract. The supporters' website has shown great support over the years and this latest deal is just another sign of that.

'Cherry Bear is a vital member of the squad here. You only have to look around the ground to see the effect Cherry Bear has on the supporters, especially the young ones. He's loved by them all and it's good to know that he will be running around Dean Court for forthcoming seasons.'

Speaking about the new deal Cherry Bear said, 'I am absolutely thrilled to have signed for another two seasons with afcb.vitalfootball.co.uk.

'The supporters' website has given me and the Junior Cherries wonderful backing over the years and it is fantastic that this will continue!'

Well done on the sponsorship deal - every little helps. With the corner flags, bricks in the stadium etc etc sponsored there is little left. Is the gents cubicle #3 sponsored?, if not could I have my name on the pan?, for a small deposit.

Can someone explain just what the sponsorship is for as I can't see what expenses there might be for Cherry Bear? Surely a new 'suit' every few years is all thatss needed - does the Bear have a habit to support ?
