Francis: Wilson will be a handful at this level

AFC Bournemouth full back Simon Francis believes that Cherries striker Callum Wilson has proven that he will be a success this season.

The Cherries signed Coventry City striker Callum Wilson during the summer after the 22 year old had enjoyed a successful season in League One.

The powerful forward had scored 20 plus goals last season and impressed both AFC Bournemouth and Norwich City over the summer, with both clubs agreeing a fee with Coventry.

Wilson opted to make the move to Dean Court and impressed on his debut, scoring a brace against Huddersfield Town on the opening day of the season.

Francis believes that Wilson's pace was a big boost to the sides performance.

Francis told the Daily Echo...

'...By no means are we the kind of team to play long balls or put it into the channels but it was so obvious that it was on for Callum to get down the sides. It was too good an opportunity to turn down because he got in almost every time.

"Both their wing-backs were drawn high up the pitch and it left a lot of space for Cal to use his pace and he was a real threat every time he peeled away.

"He proved straight away that he can be a real handful at this level. It was the perfect start for Callum and the group as a whole."
