Howe: We have our targets identified

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has stated that he would like to make further additions to his squad ahead of the new season.

The Cherries completed their second signing of the summer this week with the free transfer signing of Junior Stanislas from Burnley.

He joins another free transfer signing in the form of Dan Gosling from Newcastle United, who has also signed a deal to move to Dean Court after passing his medical.

The duo will join up with the squad today (Saturday) for the first time for fitness tests ahead of the start of pre-season training next week.

The Cherries are aiming to break the club record finish in the second tier of English football again next season, after the 2013/14 campaign ended with a tenth place finish.

Howe told afcb.co.uk...

"...The aim is the same again but to improve on what we did last season.

"If we are looking to finish in the top ten again, which has to be our aim, then you need a different level of player.

"They are lot harder to find within our financial restrictions, but that`s the challenge that faces us.

"We would love to add more players to the squad before the season starts if we can.

"We have our targets identified and we are working hard to get them. We will wait and see what happens."

Meanwhile, the Daily Echo's Neil Perrett has posted on Twitter...

'Understand Steve Cook could be close to agreeing a new deal with #afcb. What a statement that would be.'
