Arter: Giving it a good go

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter believes the Cherries go into the new Championship campaign with a different approach.

The Cherries returned to the second tier of English football for the first time in over 20 years twelve months ago.

Whilst the target was always to establish themselves in the division, it was never going to be an easy feat, with Doncaster Rovers and Yeovil Town proving how hard it can be by dropping straight back down to League One after a single season.

The Cherries however flourished, flirted with the top six during March and went on to break a club record finish of tenth at that level.

Arter now thinks that the players will go into the new season focused on improving last seasons run.

Arter told afcb.co.uk

'...The manager won`t stand for people coming back unfit and I think everyone knows that and I think we will be in really good shape for the first game and hopefully it will be a good start.

"For me personally I feel a lot different to what I did last season - I think everyone does.

"Last season it was a celebration towards the end, and there are no players that probably didn`t take a few weeks off and didn`t do anything for a while because they were still so happy about what they had achieved, and probably looking at what we`d achieved rather than what we wanted to achieve.

"No one really came back too bad last season but this season we experienced what it could be like higher up the table and next year we want to experience that throughout the whole season and try and give it a really good go."
