Gosling: I'm glad it is all sorted

Dan Gosling is looking forward to beginning his career as an AFC Bournemouth player after leaving Newcastle United.

The former Everton and Newcastle United midfielder has agreed to join the Cherries on a four year deal subject to completing a medical after his contract expired at Newcastle.

He is set to officially make the move on 1st July, when the transfer window opens.

The 24 year old former England Under 21 international was left frustrated with a lack of first team opportunities at Newcastle, making just 35 appearances in total, including 24 Premier League appearances (5 starts) in four years.

Last season he spent three months on loan with Championship side Blackpool where he made 14 appearances scoring twice, before returning to Newcastle where he made 8 Premier League appearances between February and the end of the season.

But Gosling is now looking forward to getting started at Dean Court.

Gosling told afcb.co.uk...

'...I`m glad it is all sorted and I`m looking forward to pre-season already, The last few years have been tough mentally. People suggest I was injured a lot, but I was only injured for four months the season before last.

"Other than that, I have been fit and trained every day. I just wasn`t being selected, which was tough.

"But this year I found myself in the team, playing well and my performance level was going up with every game. It was just too little too late for me at Newcastle.

"I`ve had a few long chats with Eddie (Howe) about where he sees me fitting in and where he wants the club to go, which has been really good to hear."
