Ward undergoes knee operation

AFC Bournemouth defender Elliott Ward will miss the final match of the Championship season after undergoing surgery on his knee.

Ward is expected to be out for around three months following the operation, which will mean he will miss the start of the Cherries pre-season training.

Ward joined the Cherries last summer on a free transfer from Norwich City and has made 25 appearances for AFC Bournemouth this season.

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe told afcb.co.uk...

"He had an operation on Tuesday to deal with the damage,"

"We are hopeful it`s not too serious, but we are looking at about 12 weeks before he returns."
