Howe: Fitting reward for Harte

Howe: Fitting reward for Harte

AFC Bournemouth veteran left back Ian Harte scored his first goal for the club with a stunning effort away to Birmingham City.

The 36 year collected the second ball from a corner and with everyone in the ground expecting a cross, the former Republic Of Ireland international whipped his foot around the ball and curled the Cherries fourth goal of the game into the top corner.

It was Harte's first goal for the club since making the move to Dean Court from Reading in the summer.

Howe told afcb.co.uk...

'...He`s taken a short corner, I thought he was going to cross it and then he`s put it in the top corner...'

'...He`s been at the very highest level in world football. He`s seen it and been there and done it and that can only help the players around him.

"He`s a real cool head in tight situations and he manipulates the ball so well with his left foot.

"He`s been excellent for us defensively and he`s been excellent from set plays, so it`s great to see him score, and it`s a fitting reward for his performances.'
